ENGINES EXTRA takes pride in remanufacturing the best
engines possible. We use only top quality name brand parts produced for the aftermarket
such as, Silv-o-lite pistons, Hastings piston rings, Clevite 77 engine bearings, McCord,
Detroit, and Fel-Pro gaskets, Pioneer and Victor frost plugs, Melling & Sealed Power
oil pumps, Sealed Power (F/M) lifters, Clevite camshafts and timing components, K-Line
valve guide liners, Sealed Power (F/M) valves, etc. All of our crankshafts are ground on
our premises. All of the engines go through the following procedures. They are chemically cleaned and then pressure washed. They are re-bored and finish-honed for the new oversize pistons. An engine assembler removes all the oil galley plugs and thoroughly cleans the block before putting it back into the pressure washer for the final washing. The engine is fitted with new cam bearings, connecting rod bearings and main bearings. These bearings are coated with a special moly lube and then the cam and crankshafts are installed. This procedure is followed by the installation of the new pistons and rings on newly resized connecting rods. All of our cylinder heads are completely disassembled and checked for cracks and warps. They are placed in the hot tank and then jet washed for proper cleaning. These heads are again checked for cracks and warps. The heads are resurfaced and new valve guide liners (or guides) are installed. These liners are fine honed to remove any imperfections. All heads are fitted with reconditioned or new valves and new valve seals. These procedures are followed by the mating of the correct cylinder heads to the correct short block bringing the engines back to factory specifications. All engines are wrapped in protective plastic, awaiting installation in our shop or shipping. Custom engines sold with oil pans are oil primed first. Engines sold without oil pans must have the oil pump primed before installation. All of our complete engines come with a new oil pump and gasket set. |
